FR Le sixième volume de la Nouvelle Série de Memorabilia Zoologica contient une correspondance inédite, échangée entre 1919 et 1929 par Benedykt Dybowski et Janusz Domaniewski. Il vient compléter deux volumes antérieurs présentant quant à eux les lettres de ces deux savants pour la période couvrant les années 1917–1918 et 1919–1920. Cette correspondance représente une source précieuse d’informations relatives au milieu des naturalistes polonais, plus particulièrement à ceux de l’Université de Varsovie et de son Cabinet Zoologique ainsi que du Musée de Dzieduszycki à Lvov. La création du Musée National Zoologique constitue un sujet majeur de cette correspondance. Le nouveau musée était né de la réunion des collections du Cabinet Zoologique de l’Université et de celle du Musée Branicki, une grande col- lection privée. Tout cela alimente l’échange d’idées entre les savants. Ils com- mentent notamment les décisions politiques, financières et organisationnelles. Le choix des cadres administratifs et scientifiques fait également l’objet de remarques et de développements. Nous avons ainsi accès à des informations précieuses sur les relations au sein du milieu scientifique et sur les mécanismes de promotions qui y avaient cours. L’avenir des recherches en sciences naturelles, les interroga- tions au sujet d’un développement de ces sciences susceptible de répondre aux exigences de la science mondiale: autant de sujets très présents dans ces lettres. La correspondance ne traite pas uniquement de questions scientifiques. Elle représente aussi une source d’informations de premier ordre sur les attitudes et les sentiments qui régnaient en Pologne durant la guerre de 1920 ainsi que sur les autres évènements politiques, économiques et sociaux dans une Pologne déjà indépendante. Les lettres sont conservées aux Archives du Musée et de l’Institut de Zoologie de l’Académie Polonaise des Sciences. Le sixième volume de la Nouvelle Série de Memorabilia Zoologicacontient aussi une biographie de Benedykt Dybowski, écrite en 1930 par Jan Grochmalicki et publiée à l’époque en français dans la revue “Kosmos”, éditée par la Société Polonaise des Naturalistes “Kopernik".

PL Szósty tom nowej serii Memorabilia Zoologica zawiera niepublikowaną dotąd korespondencję Benedykta Dybowskiego i Janusza Domaniewskiego, wymienianą w latach 1919–1929. Materiał jest uzupełnieniem dwóch wcześniejszych numerów Memorabilia poświęconych korespondencji Benedykta Dybowskiego do Janusza Domaniewskiego z lat 1917–1918 oraz 1919–1920. Korespondencja jest cennym źródłem wiedzy na temat sytuacji w środowisku polskich przyrodników – szczególnie na Uniwersytecie Warszawskim i tamtejszym Gabinecie Zoologicznym oraz w Muzeum Dzieduszyckich we Lwowie. Ważnym wątkiem poruszanym w listach jest sprawa powołania Narodowego Muzeum Przyrodniczego z połączonych zbiorów Gabinetu Zoologicznego UW oraz prywatnego Muzeum Branickich. Uczeni wymieniają się poglądami na temat idei i wizji nowego Muzeum, towarzyszących temu decyzji politycznych, finan- sowych i organizacyjnych. Dużo miejsca poświęcają na tematy kadrowe w nowo tworzonej instytucji, co pozwala dobrze poznać panujące w tym środowisku relacje i mechanizmy. Nie brakuje też refleksji na temat przyszłości polskich badań przy- rodniczych i pomysłów, w jaki sposób je rozwijać, aby spełniały wysokie światowe standardy. Poza sprawami naukowymi, listy są ciekawym źródłem informacji na temat nastrojów jakie panowały w kraju w czasie wojny w roku 1920, czy też w obliczu późniejszych wydarzeń politycznych, gospodarczych i społecznych w niepodległej już Polsce. Listy stanowią zasób Archiwum Muzeum i Instytutu Zoologii Polskiej Akademii Nauk. W publikacji, poza korespondencją uczonych, umieszczona jest również biografia Benedykta Dybowskiego napisana w 1930 roku przez prof. Jana Grochmalickiego i opublikowana ówcześnie w czasopiśmie Polskiego Towa - rzystwa Przyrodników im. Kopernika „Kosmos".

EN The sixth volume of the new series Memorabilia Zoologica contains unpub- lished private correspondence of Benedykt Dybowski and Janusz Domaniewski from the years 1919–1929. The material complements the two previous issues of Memorabilia devoted to the correspondence of Benedykt Dybowski to Janusz Domaniewski in 1917–1918 and 1919–1920. Correspondence is a valuable source of knowledge about the situation in the environment of Polish naturalists – especially at the University of Warsaw and the local Zoological Cabinet, and at the Dzieduszycki Museum in Lviv. An important topic in the letters is the establishment of the National Museum of Natural History from the combined collections of the Zoological Cabinet of the University of Warsaw and the private Branicki’s Museum. Scholars exchange views on the ideas and vision of the new Museum, as well as the accompanying political, financial and organizational decisions. They devote a lot of space to per- sonnel issues in the newly created institution, which allows you to get to know the relationships and mechanisms prevailing in this environment. There are also re- flections on the future of Polish natural science research and ideas on how to de- velop it to meet high global standards. In addition to scientific matters, the letters are an interesting source of in- formation on the mood that prevailed in the country during the war of 1920, or in the face of subsequent political, economic and social events in Poland, already independent. The letters constitute the resource of the Archives of the Museum and Insti- tute of Zoology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Apart from the scholars' correspondence, the publication also contains the biography of Benedykt Dybowski, written in 1930 by prof. Jan Grochmalicki and then published in the journal of the Polish Society of Naturalists Copernicus “Kosmos”.
